Justin - Long Island, New York

Our second child Justin was born in may of 2002. He too was born with a little hand like Haley. We found out at our 20 week sonogram that his right hand had not developed due to Amniotic banding. A day we will never forget. Everything seemed so routine until that day. Doctors thought he was also going to be born with a heart problem. We were sent for a fetal echocardiogram. His heart turned out to be fine. He was born without any other complications. It was hard on our family, especially on his older brother Anthony, who had waited so long to be a big brother.

Today, Justin is doing well for his age group. He is full of energy and is a joy in our life. He uses his "Little Hand" to the best of his ability. To make sure he's using all of his muscles in his right hand, he will be starting occupational therapy soon. We hope Justin will be an inspiration to other children as he gets older. Justin and his brother Anthony are going to be a big brothers in a few more weeks.
Lisa and Mike members a wonderful support group called Unlimbited Possibilities for families in the Long Island area. To communicate with Justin's parents, Lisa and Mike, just send an email. They'd love to hear from you.
